Hi! Thank you for stopping in to check out my new blog, Family and Farming.

Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Maggie and I love living on our small family farm with my husband and two boys. We have beef cows, a farm dog, two beehives, a donkey, a miniature horse, some barn cats, and chickens.
The chickens are some of my favorites and most likely the focus for much of my blog. I am a proud, crazy chicken lady! Check out my Meet the Flock page to meet our current flock.
My boys are currently two and four years old and LOVE living on the farm. Their dad and I love being able to give them so many unique experiences from living on a farm in the country. They love everything about the farm from the animals to the tractors to playing outside in the mud and climbing trees.
I currently stay home with our boys, but prior to our youngest being born I was an elementary teacher and my husband owns his own business.
Between working with young children and having two of my own I enjoy reading a lot of children’s books. With our animals all having their own personalities I started to make up children’s stories about them in my head while imagining what they say and do when we aren’t around. Eventually I began writing the stories down, which led me to discover how much I enjoy writing stories.
This blog is a way for me to share our farm experiences and our animals as I continue working towards seeing my stories published. Thankfully we have amazing libraries around us and I am starting this blog with a great group of other beginning bloggers through a library program.
I hope you enjoy sharing in our farming adventures!

[…] If you don’t already know, I began this blog in a wonderful group of other new bloggers with our local library. The goal of the group is that after a year of blogging we will be ready to publish a book related to our blog. You can read more about why I started my blog in my first post. […]
